Ann was gifted this awesome Salton 3-in-1 Coffee Center by her parents over 30 years ago! She enjoyed it regularly to make her favorite cappuccinos and espresso’s. After 30 years without an issue her machine began to break down. Ann reached out to our customer service team and dropped her unit off at Salton’s Toronto office. From there it was sent to Salton’s stellar service technicians in Montreal and they began to work their magic. Within days, her Salton 3-in-1 Coffee Centre was repaired and returned back to Ann in Toronto. Her machine runs like new and Ann can get back making her favorite coffee, espresso’s, cappuccino’s and frothing milk!

Coffee Making Tips and Tricks: How to Achieve the Perfect Brew

I promise you’ll like them a latte

  1. It’s All in the Cup

The key to getting your perfect brew is using a coffee maker that is made for the amount of people you will be serving. A standard coffee maker will make about 5-10 cups and sometimes this can still be too much or too little. At Salton, we decided to do better than that and brought something new to the table. Making coffee for just yourself? Get it perfect every time with the Salton One Cup Coffee Maker. Never let an unfinished pot of coffee go to waste ever again. Now take that, and multiply it by 14. (The limit does not exist). With the Salton Jumbo Java Coffee Maker you can brew up to 14 cups of coffee at once. This thing was made for the “Hostess-With-The-Mostess” in your life. With Pause-and-Serve function, you have the ability to pour your guests a cuppa joe without having to wait for the whole batch to be done. With Keep Warm ability, you have two hours of warm coffee waiting in a pot until everyone is ready for their after-dinner delight. To get the perfect cup, know your crowd, and have the coffee maker that is equipped to handle your situation.

  1. Percolating is the New Black

Let’s face it – there are a million and one ways to brew coffee but if you’re following along with the latest trends, percolating is currently all the rage. Compared to regular drip-machine brewed coffee, a percolator circulates boiling water around coarsely ground coffee grinds to get a bold and flavourful cup of coffee. The best part about the Salton Electric Percolator is that it will automatically reduce the heat at the end of the brewing phase, keeping the coffee at drinking temperature but not boiling so your coffee will not burn. Coffee connoisseurs unite around this 10 cup favourite!

  1. For the At-Home Barista

If you’re like me, you hate dishing out $10 for a cappuccino. “But how could I ever accomplish that at home?” you think unknowingly to yourself, never having heard of a Milk Frother. With the Salton Milk Frother, you are able to make your No-whip, Low-Fat, 2 pump Cappucino at home, with your favourite kind of milk. Enjoy delicious lattes and cappuccinos in the comfort of your own home! With the touch of a button this easy-to-use Frother will froth hot or cold milk in seconds! The stainless steel construction is both beautiful and durable. The non-stick coating cleans up easily and the 360° cordless base is perfect for left or right hand use. Just froth, pour and enjoy!

  1. Get Your Grind On

Another very important step to attaining the perfect cup of coffee is to grind beans to ensure freshness every time. And the best part about it? You save money and it’s totally customizable! Grind your favourite beans to the perfect coarseness in 4 easy steps with this Salton grinder! Simply fill the bowl, select the number of cups, choose your coarseness and press start. And voila! The precision timer takes over to ensure your ingredients are ground uniformly without burning. With a capacity of 12 cups and 5 different grind settings, this grinder is a force to be reckoned with and a definite must-have.

  1. Pour, Baby, Pour!

So we’ve all seen it on social media… Those lattes with the amazing designs poured into them! Well this Gooseneck kettle is exactly what you need for #latteart! The Salton Gooseneck Kettle: An elegant brushed stainless steel design with a convenient gooseneck spout providing precise pouring control. How to Host a Chocolate Fondue Party

So you just purchased a Salton fondue fountain for your upcoming holiday party, or maybe you were gifted one from a friendly neighbor. Here are some ideas to get that fondue fountain out of the box and in use.

Put your fondue fountain to work with these easy tips and tricks:

  1. Warm your fondue fountain while you melt your chocolate

To get your fountain ready for the chocolate plug in the machine on a stable and level surface to warm up while you are melting your chocolate. This will ensure the best flow from the fountain base over the auger for the perfect chocolate-y experience.

  1. The best way to melt chocolate is over a double boiler

To melt your chocolate, start by putting an inch of water to simmer in a medium-sized pot. Place a heat-safe bowl on top of the pot so that bottom of the bowl is not touching the water. Add morsels of chocolate to the bowl and stir occasionally. For every 32 ounces of chocolate, add ¾ cup of oil to liquefy in order to use for fondue. Stir until smooth and remove the bowl from heat to pour into the base of the chocolate fountain.

  1. Use chocolate that contains no more than 60% cocoa

The best chocolate to use for a chocolate fountain is semi-sweet and contains no more than 60% cocoa. This type of chocolate will create the best form when liquefied for using in a chocolate fountain and no additional oil should have to be added.

  1. Add flavors to your melted chocolate to enhance your fondue experience

To really step up your chocolate fondue experience, try adding flavourings to the melted chocolate. This is an optional step but really allows you to customize to your taste and try new flavours. You can use: vanilla extract, almond extract, cake batter flavor extract, maple extract, cinnamon extract, coconut extract, hazelnut extract, mint extract, coffee extract. For a unique and adult-only twist, try flavoured liqueurs such as hazelnut liqueur, amaretto, or your favourite liqueurs

  1. Melt cheese to create a cheese fondue fountain

Get creative with your fondue fountain and try a cheese fondue fountain instead of chocolate. Melt cheese as you would for normal fondue and dilute it with white wine or table cream to keep it liquid for the fountain. Cheese fondue is perfect for dipping grapes, apples, breads, shrimp, crackers, pretzels, meats, and just about anything you’d love to eat smothered in cheese!
