Unplug the base and let the kettle cool. Wipe the outside with a damp cloth and keep the base and plug dry. Never put the kettle or base in water.
No. Milk, soup and other liquids can scorch onto the heating element and damage the kettle. Use it for water only.
Descale when brewing slows down or your coffee starts tasting flat. Hard water leaves mineral deposits faster, so you may need to do it more often. Your manual has the descaling steps for your model.
Unless your manual says otherwise, fill the kettle with equal parts white vinegar and water, bring it to a boil and let it sit for 30 minutes. Empty it, then boil and discard fresh water two or three times to clear the taste.
Below MIN, the kettle can overheat. Above MAX, boiling water can spit from the spout. Fill between the two lines every time.
