No. Carafes are made for use with your coffee maker only. Heating them on a stove or in a microwave can damage them.
Warm your mug with hot water before you pour. For thermal carafes, rinse the carafe with hot water before brewing so it doesn't pull heat from your coffee.
Yes. Every Salton appliance sold in Canada is tested and certified by an accredited safety body before it's sold, and each one comes with use and care instructions.
Run one or two full brew cycles with fresh water only, then discard the water. This rinses the system and gets rid of any manufacturing residue. Wash the carafe and brew basket in warm, soapy water too.
Use a fine espresso grind. Pre-ground coffee labelled for espresso works well. If a shot runs fast and tastes sour, go finer or tamp firmer. A shot that barely drips and tastes bitter needs a slightly coarser grind.
